Job Summary/Basic Function

Ringling College of Art and Design seeks a forward thinking and entrepreneurial leader to provide administrative and instructional leadership college-wide for all non-credit bearing courses and programs, pre-college programs, Lifelong Learning and other continuing studies initiatives.

The Assistant VP/Director provides visionary leadership to transform continuing studies at Ringling College and build a robust program that serves the entire greater Sarasota community. The Assistant Vice President/Director will continuously seek out traditional and entrepreneurial learning opportunities to incubate new approaches to continuing studies and internal/external partnerships that are aligned with learning at the College which meet the external requirements of SACSCOC and NASAD.

The successful candidate will build capacity for Precollege, Lifelong Learning and other School of Continuing Studies opportunities; develop and implement outreach programs that drive prospective students to become applicants and ultimately matriculate to Ringling College; develop competency boot camps aligned for transfers; immersion academies for each major; and develop special or emerging industry career programs aimed at full-time and part-time students. The successful candidate has knowledge of national trends in adult and continuing studies and will develop and implement expanded professional education, conferences and institutes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five years related work experience, including management experience in higher education.
• Work experience in higher education continuing studies programs, including administering traditional and other educational programs, and grant project management.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial vision and activities.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse constituencies in an art and design college environment.
• Demonstrated visionary leadership and ability to serve as an advocate for continuing studies within and beyond Ringling College.
• Experience planning and managing budgets.

Preferred Qualifications

MFA, MA, or PhD – in art, design, or a related field of study. Alternatively, preferable candidates may possess an MBA or JD or other advanced business or related field of study degree combined
