Job Summary/Basic Function

Ringling College of Art and Design is seeking a Cloud and Web Systems Associate to work in a team environment and support internal and external enterprise services for the Ringling College community by utilizing both cloud and local solutions. The Cloud Web Systems Associate works with colleagues and outside vendors to identify, deploy and support contemporary workflows; works with colleagues and stakeholders to identify solutions that utilize Ringling College resources wisely and provides exceptional end user experiences. Must have scripting and programming skills to create, augment, and provide solutions that support and connect the user community and enrich their experiences.

The successful incumbent operates as a technical liaison with external partners and hosting services, integrating cloud computing solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and provides technical systems support for Ringling College web infrastructure. Aids in day-to-day maintenance and management of existing systems to ensure stability, security, quality and integrity. Integrates cloud and local services with enterprise services and protocols, such as SSO, LDAP, and RESTful services.

Successful incumbent will possess a suitable portfolio to demonstrate examples of previous work, including demonstrated experiences solving customer issues. Strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, and a positive attitude toward sharing expertise and assisting others to learn. Ability to creatively solve problems and bring projects from concept to life with simple elegance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Experience with web, app development and cloud platforms and architectures.
• Systems administration-level knowledge of HTTP/Apache, DNS/BIND, SSH, SNMP, file sharing protocols (such as NFS or CIFS), naming services (such as LDAP or Active Directory) and comfortable navigating Linux/Unix-based server environments.
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying IT solutions, including systems installation, performance tuning, package installation, and patch management.
• Demonstrated understanding of object-oriented concepts, design patterns, and various open-source toolkits and frameworks.
• Experience writing and optimizing code for web performance, device independence and accessibility.
• Ability to hand-code, analyze, debug, and deliver clean, validated, maintainable code.
• Experience in scripting, automating, and developing solutions to reduce or eliminate manual processes.
